According to the Irish Statute Book [1] the official Irish language name for Douglas is Dúglas. MacTire01 11:53, 24 Eanáir 2008 (UTC)

OK, then we must let it stand. The problem is, that "Douglas" is usually the anglicization of "Dubh-ghlas" - in modern orthography "Dúghlas" - i.e. a compound word (dubh + glas), where the second constituent element should be lenited.
