Leo or Leon in Irish? And what about Cleimint instead of Clement? Does the Church have any official orthography for Papal names in Irish? Try to find a priest who is fluent in Irish, will you? I would have a preference for the Gaelicised version of the Pope's name. Pope John Paul II was always rendered as An Pápa Eoin Pól II (see [[1]]). However according to esras Pope Pius XII was rendered simply as An Pápa Pius XII (see [[2]]). We also have An Pápa Iúil II for Pope Julius II (here) and according to the Jesuits [[3]] they render Pope Gregory XV as An Pápa Gréagóir XV while [[4]] he is rendered as An Pápa Greagóir XV. Meanwhile the Irish Courts Service appears to retain the English name for the Popes (Pápa Adrian IV for Pope Adrian IV) as seen [[5]]. - Foclóir Réalteolaíochta gives féilire Ghréagóra as the Irish for Gregorian calender, agus mar is eol duit, is é an Pápa Gréagóir XIII as a bhfuil an féilire sin ainmnithe. Ainm Laidine ina bhunfhoirm é Pius, ach is leaganacha Béarla iad "Clement" (ó "Clemens" na Laidine), "Benedict" (ó "Benedictus" na Laidine. Is féidir linn ainmneacha sa bhunteanga a úsáid sa Ghaeilge, ach is fearr gan ainmneacha Béarla a úsáid nach bhfuil ag cloí leis an mbunteanga.
