Plé:Ballaonaid Chónaidhm na Rúise

Údarásaí is not the plural of údarás. Údaráis or údaráisí could be. However, údarás means authority and is hardly the correct word for "federal subject". It is difficult to translate, and terminology dictionaries are of little help, but I would propose "ballaonaid", singular "ballaonad" (i.e. "member units", cf. "ballstáit" = "member states").

There is the word "suibiacht" too, of course, but it is too narrowly philosophical. "Géillsineach" is a person who is a subject or a vassal of a king or a nobleman.

There is also the term spleáchríoch, plural: spleáchríocha, which is used for crown dependencies in British history, but I doubt if it would do. Anyone? Panu Petteri Höglund 22:44, 12 Samhain 2007 (UTC)Reply

GRMA a Phanu. I think it would be preferable if Ballaonaid Chónaidhm na Rúise were used. My apologies for not having replied before. I'm able (just about) to create articles (minimal as they are) but I don't really know how to reply to queries, suggestions, srl.

I have edited Poblacht Fhéinrialaitheach (An Rúis) simply to Poblacht (An Rúis). According to the Constitution of Russia and to the constitutions of the various different republics of the federation they are republics and NOT autonomous republics as is implied by the term Poblacht Fhéinrialaitheach.
