Hi — I'm an admin here and can confirm your two translations above are correct. The new inscription isn't grammatical without the "raibh". I added a note to this effect to the Irish article. Thanks a lot! Note that Google Translate mistranslates “raibh” as "were" and insists on putting in the missing "was":
