Rugadh í i mBaile Átha Cliath, áit ar fhoghlaim sí Gaeilge ar scoil. Bhain sí amach an Astráil sa bhliain 1972, agus sa bhliain 1994 fuair sí MA ó Ollscoil Flinders san Astráil Theas as staidéar a rinne sí ar fhocail Ghaeilge i dtéacsanna Angla-Éireannacha. Bhronn Ollscoil Flinders PhD uirthi sa bhliain 2002 as a tráchtas "The Irish language in Australia". Faoi láthair tá sí ina léachtóir i Roinn Béarla Flinders.[1][2]
Déanann sí Gaeilge a mhúineadh in Adelaide agus a shaothrú ar fud na tíre.
