Ar 11 Eanáir 2014, ba aoi é O'Neill ar sheó RTÉ The Saturday Night Show le Brendan O'Connor, áit inar phléigh siad homafóibe agus líomhain O'Neill go raibh roinnt daoine a bhí páirteach in iriseoireacht na hÉireann ag an am homafóbach. Cuirtear "Pantigate" ar an ócáid seo.[13][14]

Bhagair iad siúd a bhí luaite RTÉ agus O'Neill le caingean dlí.[8] Bhain RTÉ an chuid sin den agallaimh as a gcartlann ina dhiaidh sin.[15] Ar 25 Eanáir le linn eipeasóid the Saturday Night Show, thug O'Connor leithscéal poiblí ar son RTÉ dóibh siúd a bhí luaite ag O'Neill san agallamh roimhe sin.[16] Thug RTÉ €85,000 dóibh siúd a bhí ainmnithe ag O'Neill.[17]

When Breda O’Brien says ‘equality must take second place to the common good’, that is homophobia. When the Iona Institute campaign against gay marriage because it is gay marriage, that is homophobia."[2][21][22][23] Rinne ceann teilifíse RTÉ cosain ar na íocaíochta €85,000, ag rá gur shábháil RTÉ "an absolute multiple" san fhadtéarma.[24]
